Review on 🔫 AEM 21-8311DC Brute Force Intake System for Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006 4.0 L6: Gun Metal Tube, Red Dry Filter, Charcoal by Joshua Gaines

With standard air intake on my 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 4.0L I-6 engine, 3 speed automatic transmission and AWD with 30" tires (factory size for Sahara) , when you press the pedal to the ground it takes half a second to a second for its acceleration to really change noticeably. Once you put your foot on the ground, the Jeep took about 4 to 7 seconds to really pick up speed. some acceleration and high speed (enough to pass someone who is going at 48mph in a 55mph zone.) After I installed this 4-6 months ago (it comes with a throttle spacer) that was it first thing I did was drive my jeep down a long, straight road. He stood by the side of the road until all the cars had passed and just knocked him over. I can say with certainty that yes, weather conditions affect acceleration (hot and cold temperatures) as it did with the standard intake, but this is true for any intake on any car, it actually is the warmer the air , the less dense it is. the less oxygen has to be supplied to the engine for combustion with petrol, the colder the air is, the denser it is, the denser oxygen is supplied to the engine for better combustion with it. Petrol. So I was on the side of the road (and I've done this so many times since I got this air intake, it's VERY FUN) and when I stumbled across it I was with my sister at the time and even she was a passenger in the cabin. I noticed right away that the earlier lag was gone (reaction times are much quicker) and the engine revs MUCH faster so you can now accelerate MUCH faster than before. Now when I go places I always watch my RPM and it has really made a difference with my jeep being able to stay in 2nd gear normally at 40mph but when you hit 45mph shifts it goes into 3rd gear and then you can just let it slow down a bit to about 38mph and it stays in 3rd gear. At 40 mph my jeep was cruising in 3rd gear at about 1550-1600 rpm on practically flat pavement. At 45 mph, it runs at around 1600-1700 rpm on practically flat pavement. Since I put the intake on, my Jeep runs in 3rd gear on the same mostly flat, paved roads at 40 km/h now at around 1375-1400 rpm and for 45 km/h at around 1500-1525 rpm on the same streets. This means that increasing l. the same work because there is more air containing more oxygen, so the explosions in the combustion chamber of fuel and air are stronger). Well yes the RPM difference is slight but 30-40 minutes to find your ratchet and screwdriver, remove the old one and install this one is VERY VERY worth it. Now I'm much more comfortable merging onto the freeway in traffic as I can accelerate pretty quickly, my fuel lasts a little longer than before, nothing drastic but a little longer, not to mention it sounds AMAZING. When you step on the gas you start a much deeper and definitely louder noise here than that stock air intake could ever make, but at the same time you don't notice it under normal acceleration, it's actually not all that uncomfortable until you're not PAUL ! THEN THAT IS IT! It's SO VALUE, saves fuel, saves time, it's easy to install, easy to remove the old one, it comes with instructions if you need them, it's light, it has a great warranty, it's nice solid metal (actually it's not a hollow shell) I put each of my family and friends on it and didn't say anything just waiting for their answers and my brother liked it so much he went and got a big cold air intake for his car and now he loves mine, it's really a very good product, thanks, AEM!
