Removing the old bearing flange is not difficult without a hoist or special tools, but it can be done. My biggest concern was that with all the removal/replacement work, the new blocks would be vibration free. The answer is yes. With 5,000 miles to repair, my 2010 Taurus sounds like a new car. For those without a lift or special tools, I found that using a very thin punch from the back of the knuckle through the bolt holes was a better choice than pressing.
