Easy to assemble and yes it's plastic but works great when put up for a long time. Just follow the instructions to mount it on the wall and the thing works great. Better yet, since they're so cheap, buy two, tape them together like I did in the photos, then tape them to the wall. Very durable, will not slip, move or fall. The photo shows that the weight is large, but nothing falls down here. Keep in mind that the block may appear short, but needs to be lower to allow longer instruments to be slipped in and out without touching the ceiling before detaching them from the block for use. I will buy two more
