Instructions for the Highlander 2015 are not complete. I have to say that the built-in fuse is in the engine compartment (it's not in the fuse box near the driver's knee panel). Etrailer.com shows a more complete installation than Curt's instructions. An alternative (and better) placement for the 4-pin connector is to route it through a hole covered with a round rubber grommet in the metal base of the driver's side rear storage compartment (below the plastic compartment). . I cut the grommet so I can reattach the grommet to fit the wire. To be on the safe side, I applied adhesive sealant to the slotted area of the bushing and didn't get road spray. Note that this socket is not visible from the undercarriage until the bottom plastic cover is removed (hitch requires plastic cover removal anyway). I chose not to remove the cover rather than cutting it off to fit the hitch. Tie a 4-pin connector near the hitch pickup area for easy access at all times. I prefer this alternative to Kurt. I don't want my carpeting or hatch door to close on any wires and potentially short circuit or create a fire hazard.
