***UPDATE TO UPDATE*** Went to Bestrix for warranty repair and voila in less than 24 hours over the weekend they had a brand new unit to ship to me. So I have to give them credit for turning around so quickly, especially over the 3 day bank holiday weekend. Wow, can't complain, so 4 stars again. Okay 5 stars for customer service and we'll get back to the product. *UPDATE* Well it lasted for a while and then broke. See pictures above. I was really hoping it would last as I really enjoyed it. windshield. I know some states that have fine people for having GPS/phones mounted on the windshield. What makes this product super awesome is that I can hang it under the phone's dotted line. This helps extend the life of your device as it's kept out of direct sunlight, and you can tilt the air conditioning vent on most vehicles to blow cool air, which is ideal for road warriors who travel miles and are worried about your device overheating. Also off site so the cops don't bother you. Additionally, this low profile leaves the dashboard and windshield clear of obstructions, which means your field of vision is not compromised. The next great thing is the suction cup! I have a textured dashboard, mostly flat, I think the way it works is one of those latex suction cups, a kind of gel pad that grabs the surface and down into the thin textured indentations of the dashboard, providing super suction. Be sure to wipe the dashboard with a towel and water and let it dry, do not apply conditioner or dashboard cleaner to it. Also, make sure you don't put your fingers in a clean area (hand oil can cause damage) and then press the latch and flip it over. retention talk. and yes magnet hold, i have a large phone with otterbox case and i used a rectangular magnet, it has good traction but it comes off easily if you pull with your hand. I attached and rode it on some normal roads and rough roads and it held up with no problems, but with a twist of the wrist it came loose. Finally, if you're worried about it bouncing around while driving, don't worry, this thing is solid as a rock. I bought one for me and my wife, when installed it has a slight bend in the dash and it installed with no problems giving me the same super suction. The suction cup gel pad adapts to most surfaces and provides a good grip. Her installation is different: she prefers vertical with a magnet in the bottom third of the phone, I use it horizontally with a magnet in the middle. The main thing to remember is the finish on both the mount and the magnet. They don't have as much surface area covered by the magnet/mount as you can to keep everything stable and secure. If you don't use a case, you'll have even better magnetic attraction. Overall a great product. I have a few other devices but this one is perfect because I can mount it on the dash, adjust the viewing angle and keep it below the deck line which helps keep my field of view clear of obstructions. Excellent purchase! On the other hand, I was supposed to ship the Revain in one day, but you guys simplified everything and added 3 extra days to my one day delivery, which is not cool at all.
