Part broke within 3 months

I bought this part in February and had it professionally installed at a specialty store. It worked great until this weekend when the new part, this part, broke too. Now I have to visit the store again to solve the same problem again. I'm not out of the money and it's just not fair. If I had another manufacturer I wouldn't buy it again but no one in my area stocks this part and I need my truck so I can commute to work and get paid every two weeks. Edit::: I want to apologize. The above post was what I was originally told. it broke. When I took it to the "2nd" repair shop, they told me what really happened. The original shop never installed a snap ring on the back of the Dorman part, so it was only a matter of time before the shifter wobbled again. The second store suggested I contact the first store to see if they would fix their error under warranty. They refused, saying they didn't see the locking ring, that it was my fault for not seeing the locking ring, and that they didn't even know where the locking ring would fit on the Dorman part. The Dorman part comes with a snap ring by the way and if you look at the product image, although it's hard to tell, there is a groove that the snap ring fits in just behind the circlip on the top right end. the longest part in the picture. This can easily be fixed with circlip pliers. Unfortunately, once the ring breaks (unlikely) or, in my case, never gets installed once the shift fails again (mine gets stuck in park), disassembling and repairing the dash can be a nightmare. yourself. I had already towed my truck to the second shop before I found the problem, so they will do all the work for me, so basically: this part is solid and does the job perfectly. Pretty basic, but you need a rotary sander with strong grinding wheels, and it took me a few "hours" to get the old part out, although the original snapped in but didn't snap, making access easier so I had to cut it out . Once removed installing the Dorman part is very easy (just don't forget the locking ring lol). If I might suggest search the web for "researcher forums" and this part of Dorman in the same search. They have step-by-step instructions on how to replace Ford/Mercury steering columns without paying hundreds of dollars and sometimes repairs only take about 15 minutes. Much luck.
