Review on πŸ“Ά WiFi Nation AC600 USB WiFi Adapter with 2dBi SMA Antenna - Realtek RTL8811AU Chipset, Dual Band 2.4GHz/5GHz, Windows, MacOS, Linux Compatible by Jay Huang

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works with Linux Mint, Kernel 5.4, good tech support

Adapter Arrived on time, well packaged. The CD is useless for installing Linux and searching the Wi-Fi Nation support site. I missed the document with the correct installation instructions. Tech support and I exchanged emails in realtime(!) until I got it working and it's quite nice Installation document: windows10-kali_linux_installation_guide-2.pdf - it's uselessly named after me as I skipped it , because I don't install for Win10 or Kali, but tech support pointed this out to me. This should work for any Linux with a supported kernel that uses dkms - like Ubuntu and its children. A look at the git log (at the time of writing this article) reveals a fix for the 5.8 kernel, so it may be the last one supported. The only problem I had was that the PDF mentioned a specific version string to use - and the git archive was moved. AT THE LAUNCH OF THIS version is now 4.2.3, but this overview may last longer than the current version of the driver. To find the correct version, navigate to the rt18812au driver's base directory and: grep "#define DRIVEVERVERSION" include/rtw_version.h I have more notes builds in case anyone needs them, but I want to get these, since it's a good adapter for Linux - and I get 432 Mbps, which is great for me!
