When my brother-in-law asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I naturally asked for an accessory for my Jeep. After getting a lot of external accessories I needed something to cover the back of the trunk as I don't have doors and rear plastic windows. I use the convertible top as a safari top most days when the sun is out so I don't burn myself. My backpack, tools and kids jackets are always open and I used a luggage net to prevent things from flying out. The only problem is that anyone who came and wanted to take something just had to reach out and grab it. This bin lid might not exactly be a hardcover, but according to another reviewer, it keeps honest people honest. And if you tuck and latch the rearmost edge under the tailgate, the lid will be harder to remove. Installation was tedious. The case is very, very thick. You really need to warm it up in the sun. But even then it fits well. But if you install it properly, it looks great and really protects your belongings from prying eyes. It's not the thickest of vinyl and only time will tell if it dries out, fades or cracks in the sun. I have summer to find out. But for those who regularly remove the lid on their Jeep, this really is the finishing touch. The travel case and accessory pouch that you attach to the oh Sh#t bar are a nice added bonus.
