I used this awesome bit with a cobalt bit to drill 36 inch deep holes for 12 foot 4x4 fence posts in West Virginia's impossible clay soil. Works like a charm and as expected with ONE easy caveat: it can hurt your hand if you don't hold the gun properly and it spins while you're holding it. I recommend supporting the gun with your foot as a drill. PROS: Good value, good construction, kink resistance, digs symmetrical holes even in hard clay. Ground DISADVANTAGES: The rotating action of the auger can snag your hand or cause injury. Be sure to secure the gun with your foot while the auger is operating to avoid twisting your hand if the auger catches on a rock in the mud underneath. : I would buy this tool again. Why spend $300-$500 on a mail excavator when you can spend $30?
