Review on ๐Ÿ”‹ Amprobe BAT-200 Battery Tester: Optimizing Battery Performance and Reliability by Matt Estrada

Halfway to power tool parts and accessories

Back in January I bought an Amprobe BAT-200 battery tester, one of the similar red Amprobe BAT-250s, one of the digital versions of the D-FantiX BT-168D plus everything in the battery organizer/case we bought (need testers for home, beach house, holdalls and RV). Me and the boys played with each one and this one (and the one that came in the case) had a flat battery compartment, side/vertical counter and you put the batteries upside down. Small inconveniences, right? No! The V-shaped battery stand for the red Amprobe BAT-250 'holds' the battery in the perfect position so it can't slip off the probes! The BAT-250 Red Horizontal Meter just made it a lot easier for our brains to register! And putting the batteries in with the positive side up was MUCH more natural as we checked all the batteries in our drawers! that we were faster, more consistent and more accurate with the more intuitive and easier to read Amprobe-250. red beast! What about digital? It was too buggy - we all had different readings and never really knew if the battery we were testing was good or not. Hope that helps.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Not bad but...
