I prefer the Sinometer

All the old batteries (4 batteries, 3 sizes) I've tested have turned out fine, although they won't work with their devices. I also found it more difficult to keep the batteries in place than with the Sinometer. I bought my first Sinometer BT558 self-powered battery tester nine years ago and have since bought two more. All three work fine but I was away from home and needed a new one. So I bought this one because it was a bestseller and $1 cheaper because I thought I'd like it better. No, the…

Just a great little convenience!

This is a reasonably priced and fairly cheap battery tester, but given the simple task it performs and its size, it's a good buy. This will give you the remaining battery power: AAAACD9 VOLTS. A sliding red bar approaches the ends of each battery, but you must ensure that the battery ends rest squarely on the metal detectors as they are only ¼ inch wide. Your battery will show GREEN (Good), YELLOW (Low), and RED (Replace). The 9 volts are just the two metal dots on the top of the tester where…

Nice tester, just wish it could hold batteries on its own

I was using a battery tester at my dad's house and thought "why can't I get one of these?". so i have one. This one is different because two wires came out that had to touch each end of the battery, whereas with this one you put the battery in a clamp-like thing. I assumed the clip was spring loaded but it isn't. And that's fine, I'm not sure how it would benefit from bouncing, although I would like it to have some sort of platform or mechanism to hold the battery in place. Now it works like…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Updates

If I could give zero stars I would. Save money, buy a quality device. Too small, check if battery D is a problem. The results are contradictory. Whoever designed this should go back to the drawing board and add 1/4" to the polarity check pins. A check will show a dead battery, then the same battery will show it is fully charged. NFG. Obviously this only works with less Cs best , AA & AAAs UPDATE- 07-05-19 With continued use the ergonomics of this unit are terrible not very intuitive Worse it…

Halfway to power tool parts and accessories

Back in January I bought an Amprobe BAT-200 battery tester, one of the similar red Amprobe BAT-250s, one of the digital versions of the D-FantiX BT-168D plus everything in the battery organizer/case we bought (need testers for home, beach house, holdalls and RV). Me and the boys played with each one and this one (and the one that came in the case) had a flat battery compartment, side/vertical counter and you put the batteries upside down. Small inconveniences, right? No! The V-shaped battery…

It's great in theory

If you have children, you probably have a lot of batteries lying around your house. I used to be what some would call a battery hoarder. I often find batteries all over the house. I put them all in a drawer to save for later. We then go to this drawer when we are ready to change the batteries in our toys, remote controls, games, etc. In theory that's great, but the problem is that sometimes some batteries don't work. Then the question arises which battery is to blame. I hate throwing away…

Does the job well!: Batteries

I bought an Amprobe BAT-200 and a D-Fantix BT-168D. If I had to buy just one, it would be Amprobe. Would also recommend if you're not the type to eat volts and amps for breakfast. But everyone has their own merits. Details follow: The two testers are almost identical physically, but the Amprobe looks more solid. Amprobe uses an analog counter while D-Fantix uses a digital counter. On the back of each meter is a helpful chart that provides battery replacement instructions. The main functional…
