Review on Nickel Silverstone HDDBOOST Hard Drive Enhancer by Brian Summers

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Does not work on hard drives with multiple partitions.

System: IBM IntelliStation Z-Pro 92282x Quad Core Xeon 5365 @3.0 GHz 14 GB memory MSI Twin Frozr 2 Radeon HD6870 1 GB graphics card Western Digital Caviar Black 1 Terabyte HDD Windowstex 7 Ultimate 64-bit HDDBo SSD 60 GB to HDDBo to increase the performance of my Western Digital Caviar Black hard drive. (A fast drive, but I wanted faster.) The Western Digital drive is partitioned into drives C:, D:, E:, and F: of the same size, while Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit resides on the C: partition. I defragmented the drive. Formatted HDD as instructed by HDDBoost, OCZ Vertex SSD on Windows 7 and attempted to install. No dice. HDDBoost doesn't seem happy with a partitioned hard drive, once the computer gets past the BIOS screen the LEDs on HDDBoost just blink - for hours if you let them. Customer service from HDDBoost people was bad and also in pretty bad English. They really couldn't say it should work on partitioned drives. I took out the 60 gigabit SSD, installed it as a G: drive and moved the windows 7 paging file to where it has been happily ever since. I recommend using it with a small hard drive that has one partition and one partition only. HDDBoost is for sale on eBay. Hope this works for someone else because it's not for me.
