I bought the original 2016 Hario Slim for $25. He recently died in January 2020. It produces a significantly better grind than a knife sharpener and is excellent value for money. It took 160-180 revolutions to grind 18 grams of coffee in 6 clicks (fine grind for an Aeropress or Moka coffee maker). I highly recommend it if you can find it for $25. However, at a higher price point ($30+), I don't recommend it. Be wary of fakes that look like this Hario, I bought one and they aren't as well made and don't produce as even a grind. I have a hard time recommending the $40 Hario Plus Slim since it's priced so close to budget steel burr grinders like the Xeoleo and Timemore C1. My mom has a Porlex grinder that grinds better but I find the Hario is easier to hold and holds more beans. Again, given the price of the $60 Porlex ceramic drill, I would recommend the steel drill option. Overall, it did me very well and I was happy with it.
