Review on πŸ‘œ Spacious and Convenient: CURT 18221 Extended Roof Rack Cargo Bag for All Your Travel Essentials by Mark Holloway

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Rack compatible, weatherproof, poorly constructed webbing and questionable quality.

Perfect fit for my Curt Extended Rack. The zipper works well and is large. The closed valve protects the equipment from dust and moisture. Runs on dusty trails and rain with no problems. The ability to open the flap to the side and load the bag is a plus. I loaded other bags from behind. They are a bit bigger than I would like and encourage you to put too many things in them. However, other lower profile bags I found didn't fit the rack dimensions. I was disappointed that this is a Hypalon type rubber-plastic material instead of waterproof nylon. It's waterproof but I'm concerned about tearing and durability. The weight straps to secure it are terrible. They work but have simple slide locks on both ends. This forces you to unbuckle the straps when accessing the bag. Then rethread the buckles when closing. Slide locks on the non-opening side are fine, but the opening side needs to be a quick-release Fastex buckle. So you can just undo the buckles, open and open the bag. Then quickly close and secure. They give you 6 but I only needed 3, one each on the front, middle and back of the bag. Polypropylene straps or Polypropylene straps at the top of the bag used to pull the straps to attach to the luggage rack.
