It's much better than a DIY plastic Co2 bottle. First off, the kit includes everything you need to get started - solenoid, hose, tank, regulator, needle valve, bubble counter, diffuser. This is a great pack if you don't have one. The pressure is so constant compared to a plastic bottle and after adjusting the needle valve you don't have to do anything until the CO2 is gone. One batch is enough for me for a long time, also due to the excellent sealing of the system. I have a 10 gallon tank and one batch took over 6 weeks, about 1 in 1.5 seconds and I have about 1/4 left. here. It's definitely worth it and you'll save money and time in the long run.
