Eaves are better than expected. They are 1" and made of strong metal so they easily hold my rather heavy velvet curtains and don't have to worry about the stem bending. I didn't use the hardware that came with the rods but I did use the standard curtain rod hardware that comes with all other curtain rods. The only thing I noticed is that there isn't a small screw in the brackets to hold the rods in place so they don't slip when opening and closing the blinds. The metal seems a bit thick to drill your own hole, so I suggest putting little black rubber bands on the bar on each side of the mount to keep the bars from slipping. Acrylic overlays are in perfect condition, no scratches or chips, very beautiful.
