I chose this model over other models even though it costs a little more because of the "can be remotely controlled via app" advertised. Yes, all functions can be controlled remotely via a phone app, except for one very important function, which for me is the most important, which is the "switch on" function. It cannot be activated via the app, although the user manual says so. It must first be turned on manually and paired via Bluetooth before the remote app can work. So,. If I have to walk over to turn it on, I can set or change any function by standing next to it. I don't need a remote control. Because of this, I could choose a model with similar functionality but cheaper. Well that's the remote/app control for you. (And I don't want to leave it on all the time and use up power unnecessarily, even though the user manual claims it draws very little power.)
