I wanted to learn how to burn wood, mainly to mark and decorate the wooden cigar boxes I use to store craft supplies and small tools. It seemed to me the best of the sets for beginners. (There are beginner and expert tools, but not much in between.) I chose this one because I liked the adjustable temperature dial. As many others have said, it's a little tight on your hand, but I'm learning how to work with it. The set comes with a good set of nozzles (for finer and wider strokes) and is packed in a well-organized storage box. I added some foam to make the ends easier to style. Tips can sometimes seem difficult to remove. to facilitate; 1) Have pliers ready. 2) Take a tube of dry graphite lube to lubricate the threads periodically and 3) Allow the tool to cool completely before removing the tip. Of course, this is safer and reduces the chance of the threads being torn off. Wood burning tools get very hot; about twice as hot as your oven. So a heat-resistant glove is not a bad idea. Also, when using thinner tips, apply very light pressure to the wood. This makes it easier to move through the fiber and reduces the chance of the tip bending or breaking. There are many different ways to use these tools. I highly recommend watching a few YouTube videos before getting started. Be safe and have fun!
