Pairing these tracking tiles with Smart Life is easy and only takes a few seconds. The process is as simple as it gets. I have an Android phone and Smart Life is connected to about 100 devices in my house. These tracking tags are Bluetooth Low Energy devices. Double clicking the button on the tag will activate the Smart Life app ringtone so you can find your phone. When you select a device in Smart Life and press FIND, the tag will start beeping the ringtone of your choice. All tones are high, tinny and not very loud. There is a volume control to increase the volume a bit, but it's still low enough that you can't hear the sound in the next room. While Smart Life shows the tag on the automation page, there's nothing really practical about automation that I can understand. If you go out of range of the tag you might get a notification, but I couldn't figure out how to trigger an action based on that notification. I ended up disabling this feature when my phone complained when I entered the garage or backyard with the keys hanging on the front door. The range is about 50 feet when there are no walls or metal doors in the way. The tags come with thin little straps and are easy to attach to a keychain. I will use mine there. The photos of the product show that they're stuck on things, but there's no double-sided tape in the box, and the tag's slightly angular shape doesn't look like it's going to stick to anything. These tags are too big to put in a wallet. convenient but works in purses, backpacks,
