As stated in the description this telescope should be considered as a telescope for beginners and/or children. A focal length of 500mm is a good length for most astronomical purposes. The scope does a respectable job of magnifying the moon and terrestrial (terrestrial) objects. I haven't tried it on other celestial objects. This set has everything a beginner in scope needs and more. It comes with a telescope, a finderscope, a tripod (with eyepiece mount), a diagonal with three eyepieces, three eyepieces, a 3X Barlow lens, a cell phone holder, two microfiber lens cloths, and a carrying case. The tote bag is a nice addition. Because it is a compact telescope, the case offers convenient storage of all components and easy transport. Assembling the scope is easy. All you have to do is screw the scope onto the tripod, attach one or more eyepieces and you're ready to go. If you want to more easily align the scope with objects, you need to adjust the scope's scope and set it to "zero". This is a mini sight that allows you to better adjust the main sight to the object. It's often difficult to line up properly, so I always use a viewfinder. Three eyepieces have different magnifications, and the Barlow lens further enlarges the image. Depending on the lens you choose, the magnification ranges from 20x to 176x, which is a significant range. I have ordered several scopes in the past and the phone mount that comes with it is the best I have had with any of these scopes. What makes this mount better than all others is that it includes multiple spacers that allow you to mount different eyepiece sizes. This allowed me to choose the orthosis that offered the most secure fit. Unlike other mounts, this mount did not slip off the eyepiece. I used a telescope to view the moon and with the 25mm base eyepiece the moon looked better than the image of the moon shown in the listing. The image was sharp and clear, and the craters on the moon's edges really stood out. I tried to turn on the image of the moon through the telescope, but my phone wouldn't focus. However, the picture was no less impressive. However, I have captured footage of terrestrial objects taken during the day.
