Review on Preval 0940 Handle Stop by Darrell Kiley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I'm not sure if my device is defective or not.

I bought this to replace the original Preval grip on my Preval Vfan atomizer. It only seems to work one way - that is, if you turn the device inward to limit the travel of the needle and thereby limit the amount of paint sprayed, it works. However, adjusting in the other direction does not increase the distance the needle travels, it remains locked in its previous position. The only way to get it to work is to loosen the 2 end adjustment screws, turn the exposed metal end by hand, and then and only then adjust the needle travel. However, if you turn the end screws to limit the needle's travel, it will remain there forever until you disassemble the two end screws and repeat the above process one more time. Time consuming and frustrating. I compared the operation of this device to adjusting the end screw on my Iwata airbrush. The Iwata's adjustments easily work both ways, in and out, making it very easy to adjust the flow of paint from small to large amounts.

Pros
  • Made from high quality materials
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
