This bottle was sized to be the perfect little water (or whiskey) bottle for my purse. As for the weight, it was too much. The shipping weight, 9.6 ounces, over half a pound, is the weight of the product and adds 8 ounces. Liquids and you're just shy of 18 ounces to carry over a pound. It's very well made and unlike others who have commented on the slick lid I've had no trouble opening and closing it. The color is exactly as in the photo, so the olive gray isn't that dull, it's a light green. I definitely recommend it to anyone for a backpack or a heavy coat; For men it's fine with a fleece or waterproof blazer, but I think it will be obvious in the pocket of your nice blazer or coat, and not in a good way.
