Review on ๐Ÿšฝ Mayfair 15EC 000 Removable Toilet: The Ultimate Solution for Easy Cleaning and Maintenance by Justin Sherman

Hinged latches do not close fully

The hinge is relatively easy to open. However, when closed, they do not twist to the end (see photo). The seat is held firmly in place with plastic nuts and bolts and feels solid and comfortable. But aesthetically, all this leaves much to be desired. It doesn't come in a box (which would make it easier to return); it comes in a plastic bag. which you're likely to tear when you take the seat out. This means it will cost you more time and money to send it back (which I understand the seller will ask you to do) than it would cost to get a new and better looking seat. If you don't care about such things and only care about functionality, you can probably live with a seat that looks like the photo shown here. UPDATE: After writing my original review, I took it apart again to check it out again. Reassembling it this time, I managed to properly close the locking mechanism on the right latch. The left latch mechanism now closes better than before, but it's still about a degree or two from fully closing. "Easily removing" the seat for cleaning by simply unlatching it will not happen. The round part of the bolt that goes into the locking mechanism is too tight for the seat to be easily removed for cleaning. If I want to thoroughly clean this area I have to remove the nuts from the bolts under the back of the toilet and then lift the entire assembly up and remove it.

Pros
  • Easy to assemble
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
