Review on πŸ“Š Garmin Index S2: Advanced Smart Scale with Wireless Connectivity for Precise Body Measurements and Insights by Michael Schafer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The calculation of the body fat percentage is wrong. If you care, don't buy.

If you are interested not only in weight but also in accurate body fat or BMI data, this scale will be extremely inaccurate. There is a lot of discussion on the Garmin forums about accuracy. For me personally, it more than doubled my body fat compared to other tests. As a 2:31 sport marathoner, I'm confident that my 5-8% readings from other devices are more accurate than the 18-20% I get from the Index S2. So now I have a very expensive scale that measures my weight. I have to ignore other erroneous statistics.

Pros
  • Syncs with your Garmin Connect account over a Wi-Fi connection to view your data, get trend graphs and more (requires Garmin Connect app download on compatible smartphone)
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
