Review on 🏨 MidWest Petite Avian Hotel by Josh Suter

Get ready to revamp and upgrade many parts.

This is the second time I've bought this cage. I had one for an Amazon and then a kennel many years ago and gave it to the kennel when it was adopted. This version, as far as I remember, was built and fitted very tightly without fear that it would fall apart. Do not miss the information that this cage has no screws or bolts, it is held solely by the protrusions contained in the grooves. I never worried about the security of my Amazon in the previous version. This one, I don't know, maybe they made it cheaper. The metal is still high quality, but I had to reshape some of the vent tabs with pliers to connect the cage. None of the walls are tight. The whole thing is secured by inserting the top into the tabs on the sides, but this fit was loose enough that I was able to pull it back out. If an assembled cage without modifications is dropped or even hit, it may fall apart. I'm planning on using a cage for my Grays and Eclectics to have some time outdoors and by no means is it secure enough once assembled to even take them on deck. So I've now additionally secured the cage with about 10 zip ties around all corners and a few more in case the bird eats one before I see them. I also feel that the quality of the key door locks is cheaper than previous versions. I ended up having to stretch the springs to try to get the locks tighter and even then the locking tab barely pushes past the mount. Not the front doors, they are better designed. I'll have to look for better springs at the hardware store. This is actually very bad as many of the materials and design of this cage are good and the size is perfect for short term travel or an outdoor cage. But poor quality control and cheap manufacturing have now made what was once a great cage good. It's an expensive cage for its small size, I wouldn't have the jury to assemble so many parts to protect my animals.
