Review on Optimize Bike Performance with Finish Line Ceramic Wet Bicycle Chain Lube by Drew Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very versatile, long lasting lube

Before using this product I was a big fan of waxy lubes like Krytech Finish Line or their Ceramic Wax Lube. These lubricants are relatively clean and will not become contaminated. They work well in hot, dry and dusty weather (last year was hot and with a record drought). Wax lubes don't work as well when wet, and in cold weather (near freezing or colder) the lube solidifies. in a bottle and cannot be applied (which also cannot mean that it works well as a lubricant). I've tried using the Ceramic Wet Lube in the winter and have ridden outdoors every week (in Indiana) from November until now. It works well in cold weather. I was planning to go back to wax lubes in the spring and summer, but Ceramic Wet Lube has worked well for me so far. This spring and summer has been like the rainy season and I've been in more than one downpour - the grease stays in place despite the water. I've also put just over 4,000 miles on my current Dura Ace 9 speed chain (installed February 2013) which I consider a new record for me. I can't tell if it's the lube or the fact that I now thoroughly clean and lube my chain (because I've worn out 9-speed components it's going to be a lot harder to find replacements), but the results are the results. This is now my favorite lube. It's clean enough for wet lubrication and stays in place. You just have to be careful to wipe off excess product from the chain after application. It can be easily removed from the chain when needed and easily reattached. I like it.
