I have been cycling for many years and have tried many different lubes. This is definitely my favourite. It is easy to apply and once dry forms a sticky film that lasts a very long time. I think it does pick up some dirt and dust but to be honest I've never had a lube that didn't. When an oily wet lubricant is wet enough to work, it is wet enough to pick up dirt. Before using this product I was a big fan of waxy lubes like Krytech Finish Line or their Ceramic Wax Lube. These lubricants are relatively clean and will not become contaminated. They work well in hot, dry and dusty weather (last year was hot and with a record drought).
