I'm not sure if the UL certificate is fake but it has nothing connected to ground just a dummy connection. Tried to see if I could remove the ground pin for use with a 2 fan on a 2 pin socket and took it apart. As you can see, nothing is actually connected to ground, so even when used on a 3-prong outlet and device, NO GROUNDING IS PROVIDED. Any device with metal, such as a lamp, etc., will not be properly connected and will not be protected from live metal parts in the event of a fault.

This was purchased to help my elderly family member get up and keep turning the lights on and off. This device didn't help at all, when the light went out it stayed off for maybe a minute and then came back on by itself and when the light came on it went off. I've repeatedly tried resetting this device according to the instructions in the box, didn't help, and I bought two of these, one for me and one for my family member who it could really help, but it didn't help. I bought this item so I can turn off the lamp next to my TV. I was able to turn the TV on and off with the remote but had to go to the lamp to turn it off. I didn't know such a device was available until I looked for a remote control lamp from Revain.
