I should have made a YouTube video about this. My wife's car antenna fell victim to a car wash. It was literally ripped off the plug. No threaded connection found. Typically the only option would be a 1-for-1 replacement by removing the rear upholstery, removing part of the headliner and replacing the antenna housing by detaching it from the roof. Another option would be to install an internal antenna, but this would require opening parts of the center dash to access the stereo to get to the antenna connector for the internal antenna. After that it would be necessary Lay the cable and antenna in an inconspicuous place on the front panel. Both typical options are pain, you know what. Take it to the dealer and it will cost between $200 and $300. The parts themselves are only about $30. I'm not joking. I decided on a replacement shark fin antenna that fits into the existing external antenna housing. To get to the antenna connector I had to cut off the top of the antenna housing with a dremel. With the housing removed, all that remained was to connect the shark fin connector to the connector on the antenna housing. Note that since the screw is gone (because it was ripped out) you will have to use solder or wire to make the connection. Oh, I only gave the antenna 4 stars because of the "simply normal" reception. However, it looks great! Hope that helps! I decided to get a replacement shark fin antenna that fits over the existing external antenna housing.
