Basically foam blocks are the best way to carry our kayaks. However if the kayaks are heavy I was told not to put the blocks directly on top of the car. I bought these foam blocks to install aero bars on my previous car but have since switched cars. The new machine has square bars, and the grooves in those blocks are too big for the bars, so they swing in place. While the bow and stern lines are a good safety measure during transport, an additional towing eye is required for the craft. The towing eyes must be removed when the vehicle is parked or not present when you return.
