My 510 which I saved out of goodwill was in good condition but the brushes were dirty. Instead of cleaning them, I decided to just swap them out. Unfortunately, Roomba kept asking me to check their brushes, which had never been a problem before. I cleaned the original brushes with the cleaner that came with it (that and the filters prevented me from returning it) and it worked like new again. The filters in the kit work perfectly and do not cause any problems. Also, the brushes in the kit picked up nothing but dust, while the original brushes picked up things my Dyson missed. So if you have a 510, save yourself the headache and about 4376 swear words and skip those brush replacements.
