Review on Renewed NETGEAR PowerLINE WiFi 1000 Mbps with 802.11ac and 1 Gigabit Port - Essentials Edition by Mark Morrow

Consistently Good - But Slow

I have to admit that I really don't understand or know why this NETGEAR PowerLine 1000 isn't working for me, but it just isn't working. It was installed correctly and plugged directly into the outlets. I compared several PCs and PCs in different places in the house and found that the minimum DOWN/UP loads are the same in both cases. However, from my laptop BOOT is 50% faster than when this system is enabled with direct connected or Wi-Fi versions. That doesn't mean it doesn't work for you guys who read my review. Many different factors can contribute to this. And by no means am I going to call this product "BAD" because from what I've seen in other people's reviews, it works for a lot of people. I need to set up a workstation for my wife to do her work at home and we don't have access to a wired ethernet connection (yet). But now I grab a 100-foot cable, climb into the attic, and run the cable. Your computer in the air network directly at the router gives me 10 times the download speed (150). It's just annoying. It was wishful thinking. Before I send back these 2 kits I bought for $160 maybe I'll try to get some ideas and fixes from the guys at Netgear Tech. Just take a look. However, I like Netgear. My Netgear router.
