I bought this item because I have Mac Air and Surface Pro laptops and wanted to switch between them and have more ports. Much of what is claimed does not actually work. It didn't work with an HDMI adapter to connect a second monitor on Mac or Windows, nor did it work with an external hard drive with a USB-C adapter. Also, I noticed that when you try to close all 7 slots use, 1 or 2 of them won't work unless you disable/disable something else. It mostly worked with anything basic like keyboard, mouse, speaker charging or anything more. NO, I would only recommend it as an extra USB hub for all your little things, nothing major. I returned mine. If you still need something with that many ports and don't want to daisy chain USB hubs, you'll have to shell out $50-$60 for more well-known brands. I've always been lucky with Anker.
