I have a strong beagle. I originally had a door strap from another company that worked fine for over a year. Eventually he managed to take it off (no harm). I put new glue on it but a few days later it took it off again. I was hoping this article would work better for him. There are three installation methods (1st tape, 2nd screws, 3rd both), I used tape and screws together. My dog entered the forbidden room within 5 minutes of first using this unit (24 hours after installation) and damaged both installation areas (a large piece of veneer is now missing from my door!). This probably works for animals that aren't as pushy as mine.
