This is the third brand of silk ties I've tried and I was specifically looking for smaller and stronger ones to hold my braid in place. I bought a set of 9 mini scrunchies and they came in a lovely satin pouch which was an unexpected bonus. These hair ties do have a few minor flaws and concerns, but overall they are great value when bought as a set. The silk satin is very dense, much thicker and shinier than other brands I've tried. I have ordered many items from LilySilk and am confident that they are 100% silk as advertised. However, I am worried about the quality as the hair bands are hand made but the stitching is not very clean. Other reviews of LilySilk hair ties have some user made images showing this issue so I knew I would make sure. I have no problem fixing them myself if they fall apart, but I'm wondering why they couldn't be sewn together correctly as it's easy to get it right. Another thing to note is that the elastic part inside is not a regular rubber band. This is one of those seamless tubular elastics that looks like you're cutting through a tubular sock. On the plus side, they don't rip or tear, but on the other hand, they have less stretch than traditional elastics and can stretch over time because the elastic fibers are woven into the fabric and are much thinner than solid elastics. .I found that this inner elastic gives these elastics a very firm feel, but they don't stretch as much as regular elastics. They wrapped my very thick hair in a ponytail twice and held my braid securely, but they may not have stretched enough for everyone. The mini size is great for my purposes, but it won't replace my large silk hair ties, which can wrap three times around my ponytail and hold the bun in place.
