1.) Thread length is not long enough to start without using pliers to tighten. 2.) Poor tolerance of the two parts will cause the part that pushes the valve to the open position to slip3. ) There is no way to harden this. The leg on the part that pushes the valve down broke off like cast debris. Do yourself a favor and pay for an official Ford tool, even if you only use it for one job. My car now has to stand until the Ford tool gets here.
