This collar is perfectly padded. I had a normal vinyl collar on my dog and some of the hair around his neck was rubbing off so I am hoping with this one it will not rub as much. Still too soon to tell for that. Unlike other reviews I think this collar is very reflective. I have a medium sized dog and the reflective portion does take up majority of the collar. Perfect when I let him out at night, not much light is needed to see where he is. It is just a little tricky to adjust the size and sometimes it gets bunched up around the sizing clip.
