No caffeine is okay. It just doesn't seem to have much trouble. The bag I received was over 4 months old. To be honest, with all the options available, I would have liked something a little fresher. I would even be willing to order it direct from them to insure a newer bag but they don't seem to have that option. Maybe I'll give it another chance if I find a fresher package if I happen to stumble upon it at a local store. Otherwise I skip. A few tips when looking for a good decaffeinated coffee. I think with most decaffeinated drinks you have to add a little more to each cup or you'll think it's watery. Decaf coffee seems a little underpowered compared to the regular version of the same coffee. So if you're drinking 16-18g per cup, you should probably go for 18-20g 2. If your coffee is too acidic, you're probably extracting too much, it's not always coffee. Try using a coarser grind or lower the water temperature slightly. Edit Upgrade: Downgraded to 1 star. I ended up throwing away about half the package. Wasn't worth it and I don't think it was a bad bag. Just not very well. There are better and fresher options
