Kicking Horse Coffee is amazing!

My son and I have been in the business for 12 years and the first thing we did every morning was have a cup of coffee together. We both love strong, but not bitter, aromatic coffee. One of my favorites is Kauai coffee, but when I discovered Kicking Horse I fell in love with coffee all over again! I bought it based on the name and the reviews. Then a friend of mine in Ontario Canada told me it was made in Canada and that made me like it even more! I have had surgery and surgeries on my knee for…

The stone in this coffee almost broke my coffee grinder!

This coffee is good and I ordered quite a lot, but there was a rock in my last bag that almost broke my coffee grinder. Thankfully it's a manual grinder, which stopped right away (and hopefully didn't mess up the burrs). I had to pour out the coffee beans, inspect them and gradually put them back. I finally found the culprit, a small rock that looked like a mutated coffee bean. The beans in this bag were different sizes, some were very small so I can see how the rock could have slipped in and…

Brute force coffee for beverages

As a trailblazer, I prefer dark roast Pacific, Arabic, or African coffee. The search for organic decaf coffee from these regions is limited to drinking decaffeinated coffee. The raw, smoky flavor overshadows any other notes that might have been in these beans. If you like stuff like this in your morning coffee, you'll love drinking this. To use it, I blended it with another brand of organic decaffeinated coffee that's on the other, unflavored end of the spectrum. This morning I broke down and…

I recently switched from mainly coffee to decaf. I wanted decaffeinated coffee using the Swiss water process instead of using chemicals. I also love dark roasts, but not burnt dark roasts like a national chain. Kicking Horse definitely fit the bill. It's a delicious coffee that's every bit as good as any caffeinated coffee, just without the noise. Highly recommend if you like dark roasts. I bought two other decaf coffees at the same time. One of them was No Fun Jo, which was definitely too…

Finally! I found the perfect coffee

I had problems with caffeine, I noticed that I felt dizzy and tired every day after a morning cup. I'm 100% coffee addicted so I wanted to switch to decaffeinated coffee to see if my symptoms go away. I've tried several other coffee brands (Starbucks, Peet's etc) and this is the only one that tastes amazing and doesn't make me feel like crap! I did a little research and had no idea famous companies use chemicals to extract caffeine from their beans! and it's very bad for your body. Kinking…

never mind Not worth trying again if I can't get a fresher bag.

No caffeine is okay. It just doesn't seem to have much trouble. The bag I received was over 4 months old. To be honest, with all the options available, I would have liked something a little fresher. I would even be willing to order it direct from them to insure a newer bag but they don't seem to have that option. Maybe I'll give it another chance if I find a fresher package if I happen to stumble upon it at a local store. Otherwise I skip. A few tips when looking for a good decaffeinated…

Annoyed that it doesn't feel fresh

I was recently advised to eliminate coffee from my diet - for both the acidity and the caffeine. I'm hoping to find a low acid and/or decaffeinated option that tastes really good. I didn't notice anything about the acidity of this coffee, but obviously it meets the decaffeinated mark, so I decided to give it a try. Eh, this coffee had almost no taste. I will say that this isn't the worst decaf I've ever had - the body seemed about the same as a regular cup, but there was no complexity at all. I
