This is a pretty handy tool. This makes "mashing" the potatoes fairly easy and allows for a lot of control over the "texture" of the mashed potatoes - thanks to the many "rings" that go into the product. I also like the fact that steel is pretty easy to clean. With all of this in mind, the user should be aware that this is a "single use” product. It is for AND works very well as a "potato press". I haven't seen any other use for it. So if you *often* like mashed potatoes, then this could be a very useful gadget for you. However, if you [usually] eat mashed potatoes once or twice every few weeks, then this [very clever] 'gadget' will be 'unused' most of the time. It's NOT very expensive so you might still want to get one to help you out if you REALLY have a big meal coming up and you're feeling stressed out about the time to cook everything. So how "useful" you find it is really up to you. However, if you're the kind of person who wants to improve their cooking AND puree very often. then you should consider the "toys" I brought.
