Review on Mishimoto MMRAD FD 93 Performance Aluminum 1993 1995 by Richard Simmons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Too bad you can't see it when it's installed

This is a good radiator. I had to lengthen the holes in the stock top mounts to match mine, but my machine had frame stretch so I don't know if my mounts are in their original position. Overall this thing is absolute premium quality - nice welds and good polish. Aside from the fit, I had two issues (which I can't comment on in my case) - the AST nipple is a size too small, so the standard AST hose doesn't seal. What I had to do was cut the hose and connect a length of 5/16 hose to a transition fitting (Eldon James P/N C6-5GFBN, Revain). You need to cut the hose far enough so that you have enough room to make a smooth 90 degree bend in front of the fitting. You also need to make sure the final assembly is the correct length and routed correctly so the hose doesn't get caught in the cooling fan. The second problem I had was that the top tube of the hose was curved, very smooth and not straight enough to seal the silicone hose well. The problem I had was with the secondary air box, the air intake was side loading the hose causing it to leak (I used a standard spring clamp as I think it's the most reliable). I ended up using a Gates Power Grip (P/N 32948, Revain, actually a piece of shrink tubing). These things are amazing and I highly recommend them. All in all a great spotlight. Seems to be running cool and seems to have solved my overheating issues. Too bad you can't see it installed - it looks so pretty.
