I just successfully installed a Samsung 840 Evo SSD in my 2010 iMac Core i7. I've had this unit since 2010 and have avoided cracking the case as the inside looks a little intimidating despite years of PC building from parts and various MacBook repairs. All the essential tools are included and the video, while fast, shows the upgrade process well. Best of all, with the OWC kit, you have the original drive, optical drive intact, and a new SSD tucked away in an empty space in the iMac's case. Booting from an SSD brought this iMac back to life and it flies. I'm not sure I need the cool suction cups, but given the modest overall budget for the project ($129+tax for SSDs and $35 for SSDs), I'm very happy with the results. The difficulties are not that bad if you have some experience with PC repairs and are not afraid of such things.
