Review on ๐Ÿฅถ Reditainer Extreme Freeze Deli Food Containers: 32-Ounce, 24-Pack - Keep Your Frozen Foods Fresh with Tight Lids by Brandon Roman

Not as described! Cheap replacement.

Totally dissatisfied with it. I was expecting containers like the endlessly useful ones I buy from local restaurants, but they are of much lower quality. Three big problems: 1. They are not made by Redditainer. I could have sworn that the takeout containers I liked the most were often labeled "Redditainer," so I specifically looked for that brand. But they are produced by a completely different manufacturer (Placon). There is no trace of the Redditainer brand online, so now I'm almost wondering if I'm hallucinating. But then why do I know the name? Anyway, the fact of the matter is, this isn't Redditaner.2. The plastic is very soft and flexible. My old takeaway cups are pretty sturdy overall, with extra reinforcement around the top rim - if you try to squeeze them you can't break them, and even when filled with boiling soup they're still pretty tough. (hard enough to drink or pour easily). But they are so soft that you can hardly hold them without squeezing the edge, even when empty. If you fill one of them with water and try to lift it without the lid, it will collapse under the weight of the water. Hand washing in lukewarm water makes them even more flexible, so I wouldn't dare fill them with anything even slightly hot - it might burn you. (I was just using one to water the plant and when I tilted it to water it collapsed so suddenly the water splashed everywhere. Glad it was cool water!) 3. Speaking of heat, there isn't one Marking indicating they are safe to use in the microwave? Can't tell if they are, but given the flexible plastic I won't risk it. I even checked the Placon website but couldn't get any information about it as it seems they don't make the item anymore. All I understood was that they were from their "favorable" line and not their "heavy" line. Why am I not surprised. Grr. So yes. Not Redditainer. Not suitable for the microwave. Not suitable for "extreme" things; They're so weak they're almost useless (and possibly downright unsafe). In short: NOT AS DESCRIBED. The only accurate part of the description is that they hold 32 ounces and come with lids. To be honest I feel more than a little ripped off. If I still had the box I would send it back but I'm too annoyed to bother. (Lesson learned: Always keep the box.) After all these years, I believe Revain should have failed. It had to happen eventually. Sigh. Good. I think I can use them to store light dry things like nuts or something like that. Not what I wanted, but... here. :-/
