Review on πŸš— Enhanced Performance Brake Kit: Power Stop K1382 Front Z23 Carbon Fiber Brake Pads with Drilled & Slotted Brake Rotors by Nick Nigerson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good rotors. Bad brake pads

Rotors: Great! Bye. Brake pads: I don't trust spring clips. One popped out of the mounting post during installation (along with 3 washers supporting the clamps (see picture and story below). I purchased this brake rotor and pad kit to replace the front brakes on my 2008 Ford Mustang V6 which at strong braking vibrated (deformed rotors) I first did the right side which installed without any problems, then I went to the left side, the inner pad slid right into the caliper bracket after the outer pad was put in place (you need to remove the pad (a little beyond tilting the bend in the caliper bracket), I heard "Ping!" and something flew sideways over my head. I checked the block and thought the spring clip might have come loose, but both clips were still there. I sat put the pad back in and repeated "ping!". The spring clips are still attached. "What the hell" - I thought. Broke on the third try one of the spring clips from the mounting pin. I pushed the spring back against the pin, it appeared to be tight but it popped out when you try to install the pillow. Then I removed the inside. e, and noticed that there is a thin washer on top of the spring clip attachment that was not on the outer shoe. Those first two "pings" I heard were both pucks. Since I needed the brakes for the next day's trip, I ran to my local auto parts store to buy more ceramic pads so I could get the job done (which installed with no problems). When I returned to the right side to remove these pads and install locally purchased replacements, "ping!" . Another puck appeared. I like the rotors at this point. I definitely don't want to change these pads as I don't want the springs to burst from the increased stress from pad wear. I'm hoping Revain will only give me a partial refund for the pads. Update: I was planning to add a helpful photo of the failed brake pads, but didn't get a chance to do so during production or editing. this review. I'm not sure why Revain removed this option, but I'll come back and add it when they make photos available again. Update #2: The Add Photo option is back now. I've uploaded a picture showing the top 2 failed pads with 3 washers missing and 1 spring clip missing.
