Review on Logitech G G502 Lightspeed, black by Ognian Dimoff ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it, thank you for the quality product.

Been using Logitech's G603 for a long time, it's going to be perfect compared to this one. Well, who came up with such an uncomfortable wheel? 1) operating mode of the wheel with cutoffs. At the same time, the wheel is very tight, it rattles like a tractor when scrolling quickly. It hurts and unpleasantly affects the return to the finger during long scrolling, as if you are working with a perforator. Is someone spinning the wheel for one rice? It is impossible to twist it for several lines at once, not to mention several turns. 2) free wheel rotation mode. Everything would be fine if the wheel itself did not turn in one direction or another after you stop. Because of this, scrolling is always jerky. They screwed it up to a certain place where it is convenient for you, let go of your finger, and the wheel took it and turned back a little bit - by a fraction of a millimeter. The wheel is not perfectly balanced in terms of weight, and therefore cannot stop at any point you want. Add some friction or make the perfect wheel. Why didn't they do the 3rd scroll mode in this case? MEDIUM mode. To make the wheel spin with normal effort like on your other mice? Why did you decide to use two extremes - either it spins freely, or it spins with clicks that are incredible in terms of noise and terrible vibration because of this? Why did you decide that everyone would like it and people would have a "choice"? I have a G603 and also a 570 trackball, they have normal wheels. I have never seen such an inconvenience as here in any mouse from different manufacturers. It's not good for work. Get used to using the side buttons. They are perfect on the G603, but why is the G5 tighter than the G4 here? The mouse is more expensive than the G603, but the side buttons are worse. But compared to a terrible wheel, these are already trifles, although they were able to do everything perfectly on the G603?

Pros
  • The shape of the mouse is comfortable.
Cons
  • The scroll wheel is something terrible. inconvenient and ill-conceived, inconvenient to use. The G5 button is tighter than the G4 - these are the side ones.
