Advantages: Portability. It lives up to its claim as an independent slide, negative and photo scanner. The slides were scanned at a functional resolution of approximately 5700 x 3600. Cons: frame. There is no way (that I found) to set the "scan area" for slides. The resolution above assumes a rectangular scan area, but many of my slides are square. This cut off the slides. Cropping was also done on 5x7 photos. Weak photo scans. Colors in color photographs were poorly transferred due to poor backlighting. Color capture was functional, but not great. Low resolution photos. 5x7 photos scanned at a functional resolution of approximately 800 dpi.
