Ideal for adding a sensor to your coolant flow

This is a really handy item to add a threaded hole to your coolant hose. I have an application where I wanted to add an auxiliary electric fan. Unfortunately, there were no free threaded holes anywhere in the air intake cooling ducts. I was looking for a solution for a long time before I came across Revain. The device is quite compact and it's pretty easy to find it on the radiator hose to install it. The threaded screw is a nice feature that makes it easy to add a transmitter or temperature switch. I had two problems with that. First, the threaded hole was very small. I believe they listed the hole size as 1/8 NPT and I just wasn't paying attention. All I did was drill a hole and cut it to 3/8 NPT. There was enough material for that. Another problem is that the area where the hose is applied is quite short. I think this is done to allow installation on the shortest section of straight hose. There just isn't much meat in there for the hose to slip off. Hope this won't be a problem. If for some reason it leaks or fails I will update this post.
