The instructions say how to turn it on, but it doesn't say what the numbers on the dial mean, or the specific levels or minutes of using the wizard. For example I put 2 panini sandwiches in and kept them on speed 3 for 10 minutes and got wet, gooey, undercooked mush with cheese all over it. I later put a panini on level 4 and a half for 3 minutes and it toasted perfectly. I don't care how the panini plates look, they form odd shaped triangles. The preheat function takes a little getting used to, when I turned it on both the red and green lights came on and I started using it after 5 minutes when the green was off and the red hadn't preheated yet. So I think it takes 10 or 15 minutes to preheat. For grilled chicken, it is very small, the breasts must be very thin and not very big to accommodate 2 people. In general, for this money I recommend taking another brand. There's no guide to grilling either, so you'll have to play around with the settings and see what happens. It contains minimal instructions on how to make waffles, but no actual recipe. It basically just means pouring the batter.
