This is a great purchase. The finish on the racks is not very good. There were scratches and nicks that will rust over time so I would recommend taking them off and storing them indoors when not in use. They are very durable and will work very well, just what I wanted them for. If you want something beautiful with a good finish, you should consider other options. After reading the many negative reports from other people, it seemed that most of the complaints were related to the congregation. I work on a variety of things, so I knew I could bring them together. I bought two of these sets. The first set came together very easily, no problems. I decided to time it, snap some photos of the second set and share some build tips that might help someone else. Luckily the second set didn't come together as easily as the first, so I see where some people say they were easy to put together while others were more difficult. I started the build with the kit still in the sealed box. The total time was 24 minutes 45 seconds. It took 7 minutes to unpack everything and put it on the table. I spent an additional 2 minutes on the photos so the time it took to actually assemble the product was just under 16 minutes for the complete kit. Here are some assembly tips: When inserting the first metal tube into the rubber molding, it helps to place something like a screwdriver handle in the center of the molded rubber to open it up for the ends of the metal tube. walk. The second half is much easier to put on without trying to push it into the rubber piece. Slide the second half of the tubing over the first half. Now place the rounded end of the second half of the metal tube on your stomach and slide the plastic/rubber piece over the assembled metal tube until the screw holes line up with the holes in the molded rubber piece. If you need to pull hard on the rubber part, you can put a hardcover book or something between your abdomen and the tube to better distribute the force. This wasn't necessary, but apparently the details differ from kit to kit. Insert four short screws into the assembly in an "X" pattern, moving the rubber piece as needed to help you align everything. Then insert two long bolts. Do not install any of the nuts until you are certain that all of the bolts are in place. When installing the washers and nuts, be sure to apply some force to the rounded ends of the carriage bolts so they fit into the hole. Square holes in the tubes to keep them from rotating. As the carriage bolts are adjusted while the nuts are being tightened, keep applying pressure to the rounded end of the bolt and it will eventually settle into the correct position and fall into the square hole in the tube and stop spinning so you to tighten the nut. Tighten the nuts crosswise. Be careful not to overtighten, you don't want to break the metal tube. To be honest if you have arthritis or weak hands you might want to consider other options to buy them or find someone to assemble them for you. price, they carry kayaks and make loading easier. Very durable when installed correctly. Very important!
