We rescue/rehabilitate/train Irish Wolfhounds. It seems a lot of new owners either don't know what they're getting into with how big this cute little pup is getting, or their circumstances have changed. Twenty years ago, no one would turn away a dog that paid over $1,000 (plus vet bills, microchips, food, toys, and crates). For the past six months my wife and I have (now) rescued a 12 month old dog. old girl named Piper and a 17 month old boy named Finnegan. We also abandoned two other bailouts, which tended to be three years high, so the combo not only had to be adjustable, but also durable. Piper's weight is likely to be in the 110-125 lb polar bear range. Finn sees collars or collars being used for reference. We don't use collars at all. G-collars may be suitable for large, strong dogs with behavioral issues or those entering obedience training for the first time. If you've ever been dragged through the ring by a 240-pound dog at an obedience school, you quickly learn that you need total control. Of course, there's nothing more amusing than seeing a big guy being dragged across the ground by an even bigger dog. This leash and collar combo is well built, durable enough for big boys and girls, and the color combination is bright and feminine. Piper looks good in it, but Finn probably won't like it. St. Patrick's Day is fast approaching and the dogs are looking forward to showing off at the big parade. Both now have outfits to make a good impression.
